Google failed to disclose a potential Google+ data breach of users and have decided to close down consumer facing Google+. A bug in how third party developers use an API to access Google+ data was discovered which would have allowed private data to be accessed. There is no proof that any data breach occured because access logs for the API are only stored for two weeks.
