This week I attended The Stochastic Method, an experimental music and performance concert in the CCA Glasgow featuring Iain Ross, Paul Michael Henry, Leslie Deere, Jenn Kirby and Graham Dunning. I also had the pleasure to design the poster for the event.
Amazon have announced AWS DeepComposer, a keyboard which connects to the AWS DeepComposer service and allows the user to generate an original musical composition using trained generative adversarial networks (GANs).

Last week I went to see Alasdair Roberts and his band in the Blue Arrow in Glasgow, supported by Hank Tree and Quinie (who sang some amazing acapela folk songs in Scots!). Check out some photos of the concert here.
In 2010, a compilation of music from Saharan mobile phones was complied on tape. The oftentimes unlabelled tracks included were a collection of popular music doing the rounds on memory cards of mobile phones and shared via bluetooth. In 2011, the artists were tracked down and the collection was released commercially 50% going directly to the artists. The album is also available on Spotify.
This week I started watching Rhythm + Flow. It's like a Rap X-Factor, where contestants compete for a prize of $250,000, supervised by Chance The Rapper, Cardi B and T.I. I lost interest in these type of competition shows years ago but I decided to give this a look because the production quality is high and I was interested to see how rap and hip-hop content would be delivered and judged, because I know very little about it.
This week I attended The Night With concert with Garth Knox in The Hug And Pint in Galsgow, where we were treated to a fantastic performance by Garth on his Viola D'Amore! Check out some photos of the concert here.
