Podcast Of The Week: Darknet Diaries - Misadventures of a Nation State Actor

Darknet Diaries is a great podcast about shady things in the tech world. This week while going through the back catalog I listened to episode 10 which featured an interview with a Nation State Actor, aka a government hacker! The fascinating story describes how the unnamed agency hacked into the network of an unnamed agency of another country, only to be foiled by a windows update!

Podcast Of The Week: The Tropical MBA - How To Get Rich Without Getting Lucky

The Tropical MBA podcast is great every week, but recently they released a fantastic interview with Nick Huber, co-founder of Storage Squad. A few episodes previous, Nick was on the show to talk about Storage Squad but during this follow up episode, he described the somewhat untapped opportunity of starting a traditional service business where the competitors have little to no web presence, and subsequently crushing them!

Podcasts Of The Week: The David McWilliams Podcast - Exploring the ramifications of a united Ireland

This week I caught up with some episodes of The David McWilliams Podcast. I like the format of the episodes where his friend asks the (sometimes leading) questions which makes the content more of a conversation down the pub rather than a sermon in the church of behavioural economics. The stat man Finn also sounds a bit like The Viper, so I picture The Viper in a smoke filled room speaking in hushed tones over a laptop with Excel in full screen mode :-p.

Podcast Of The Week: The Blindboy Podcast Live with Colm O'Gorman

I'm catching up with episodes of The Blindboy Podcast and this week I listened to Blindboy's thought and emotion provoking interview with Colm O'Gorman, the executive director of Amnesty International Ireland and founder of One in Four, a support organisation for survivors of sexual violence and abuse. The interview is wide-ranging, from Colm's work and personal life to how Ireland is currently a beacon of light for supporting human rights in a lot of areas of policy and public opinion.

Podcasts Of The Week: Naval

I've been listening to a great podcast this week by Naval Ravikant. The first set of episodes are commentary by Naval on a tweet storm he put out a while ago about how to get rich. Despite the sexy title, the content is actually about wealth creation and how best to leverage oneself into a position to build wealth, be that meaningful work, relationships, money, or all of the above. Each of the initial podcast episodes are tied together into one big megasode which is packed full of wisdom bombs.

20 Years of Online Game Hacking

Despite having recommended the Darknet Diaries podcast way back in Edition #150, I fell behind in my listening and have just started catching up. This week I listened to a fascinating two part story about Manfred, an online game hacker who earned a living from his hacking for 20 years! Manfred found and exploited insecurities in pretty much every online game going, except World of Warcraft, for years.

Podcast Of The Week: The Blindboy Podcast Live with Ellie Kisyombe & Michelle Darmody

In the second half of this podcast episode, Blindboy plays an excellent and important live interview with Ellie Kisyombe abd Michelle Darmody, the founders of Our Table. Our Table is a non-profit organisation that "aims to build an awareness of food in multicultural Ireland and to highlight that the current system of Direct Provision is deeply flawed".
